Realigning Buildings with Nature
Realigning Buildings with Nature
The LFCSA brings you a webinar around the Place Petal of the Living Building Challenge. The aim of the Place Petal is about restoring the relationship between people and nature, place and community. The introduction will explain the LBC Place Petal imperatives which articulates how to integrate ecology and community in architecture, include generation of local, fresh and seasonal food, and encourage the creation of communities around pedestrianisation.
Our first speaker, Marc Sherratt, will further dive into the Ecology of Place – how important research on ecology, culture and the original habitat of a place is to inspire design thinking and creating a building that belongs. Second Speaker will be Brendon Martens, who is going to talk about integrating urban agriculture into the built environment and how this can be done successfully and sustainably.
