Solar Design Basics II: Solar Control & Shading
Solar Design Basics II: Solar Control & Shading
Once the solar implications are known, the design of solar control can commence. Optimally, a successful project has the right use of shading while not overdesigning. Simple calculations can inform the requirements which can then be addressed by design. This course will cover design approaches to solar control, how shading was handled historically, and various types of contemporary shading. International and local examples will illustrate how solar shading requirements become design solutions and features.
